Event: Trip To Hongkong
Date: 2nd-6th December 2005
Day 1:
It was a tiring day
Practically spent most of the time on the plane and looking for people
In the morning, about 10.30 set off from home
Reach the bus stop at about 11
Only had 3 luggages with us
Excited, happy, anxious and scared at the same time
Bus was croweded
No space for us to sit
Stood for about 20 mins
Finally have a seat for me
Wanted my sis to sit together with me
But somehow, the auntie from the front shared the seat together wih me
Never mind then, finally reach the airport
Was very early, had to wait for about 2 hours
Went to walk around the airport
Was very different from what it originally was based on my memory( last year)
More high class now but air con doesnt seems working
Bro pestering my sis to tell him the secrets that they were talking about just now
Told him but he doesnt believe
Really comical when he did the 'diao' face
Enjoyed the feeling of stepping into the airport
Went to the boarding gate about 45 mins before boarding the plane
But, plane was delayed
Had to wait for 30 mins
Irritated and fed-up after all the waiting
Boarded the plane, but no window seat for me -sobs-
Sat at the middle column
Had a guy beside me
Somehow, think that he's younger than me
Legs open till very big and keep occupying my space
Arms also keep knocking into mine
Starving and almost faint after all the waiting
Stomach was growling as they had to serve the kids and the elderly first
Finally was my turn, but doesnt have the meal that i wanted
End up with the international meal
Only have potatoes, potatoes and more potatoes
Eeee, luckily my mom swopped with me
Get to eat the oriental meal
Rice with pork, mushroom and veggies
Guess what...
The desert was magnum ice cream
Wonder if i spell the name correctly
Also get to watch movies on the plane
Movies that they offer is quite recent
Include Initial D, transporter 2, sky high, goal, seven swords
Drink Drank Drunk, Four brothers, Set to kill
Too bad, the flight is only 3hr and 15 mins
Get to watch only 1 and the half film
Chose Initial D and part of Drink Drank Drunk
Plane finally reach hongkong airport le
Mom and bro alight the plane first
Left me and my siss behind
Went to look for them
In the toilet, at the 'designated' immigration counter
But not there....
Finally decided to go to the other side of the airport
Btw, there are 2 immigration counters
1 at the left side of the airport, the other on the right side
Went to the right side
Finally saw them
Almost approaching the counter le
Really angry and irritated
Took the passports from my mom
Ran to where my siss were
Headed to the immigration counters
Went down to the belt to get our luggages
After getting all the luggages, went to look for my dad
Took the plane from Bangkok to Hongkong
Supposed to arrive earlier than us
But, plane was delayed too
Went to look for 'Happy' restaurant
But no such name
Spread out to look for him
He saw my sis
Sis went to look for us
Happy moment for us when we saw him
Whole family together again
Went to take A21 to Tsim sha shui
Bus ticket costs HKD $33, approximately S$7
So expensive
But their bus is very different from ours
Is like a five star coach, mostly double decked
Ride for about 45 mins
Couldnt find the hotel
Alighted at another place and meet our relative from Hongkong
He's actually our grandmother sister son
Complicated family line
Took us to our hotel and went to have our dinner at 9
Later went to the avenue of stars and look at the night life and scenary of hongkong
Really beautiful and magnificent
About 11, the streets were still full of people
Slept at 1, room was small but cosy
Day 2:
Went to shop at Women's Street, Mong kok, Tsim Sha Shui
Two things hate about hongkong is that
- The people there are either too friendly or too rude
- They can smoke in restaurants and coffee house
Felt that my life will be shortened if i take in a few more breaths
Lots and lots of smokers
Spoke mostly in Cantonese
Able to understand what they are trying to say
But just couldnt reply
Ha Ha....
Discovered few things when i was there
- MUst wash the plates, cups, bowls and untensils with the hot water or tea provided
- If eat after a certain time, lets say lunch at 3, just need to pay about half the usual price
so meals ate at weird timing
Breakfast at 11, lunch at 3, dinner at 9
Grew fatter for the past few days
Thing wasnt really cheaper
About the same price as those in Singapore
Still prefer Bangkok more
Cheaper clothes and nice food
BUt mom couldnt take so much off days
So didnt go to Bangkok
Went to the Peak and ate Haagen Dazs Ice cream
Took photos too
Day3:
Still went to shop
Bought clothes, bags and my favourite slipper
Yeah...
Went to my relative's house
Average 35 storeys for their flat
Weather getting colder and colder day by day
Dropped to 15 degrees today
Went to have dinner at 8.30 at a chinese restaurant
As usual, able to smell cigarette smoke
Saw their 3 sons
All tall tall thin thin one
Unlike me like that
Ha ha.....
First son, born in year 84
University student
Kind and helpful
Helped us check the way to Disneyland
Look like a killer
Ha ha.....
Second son, born in year 86
Major in Biology
Quiet and rarely smile
Look pleasant when he smile
Surprised that he can eat 2 bowls of rice for dinner
Third son, born in year 88
Same age as me
Looked like one of 'Energy'
Also ate 2 bowls of rice for dinner
Slightly more sociable
Day 4:
Spent most of our day in Disneyland
Bought lots of things
Spendings were huge
Bought shirts, cups and keychains
Went to eat steamboat for dinner
Dunno what to order
Couldnt recognise most of chinese characters on the menu
Recently order and chalk up to about S$100+ for dinner
Wasnt full and appetisiing
Went to shop again after that...
Day 5:
Also the last day
Went to ate porridge
Was delicious, except for the ginger
Went for last minute shopping
Shopped for clothes again
Check out for hotel
This time with 7 luggages
Ha ha.....
Bought lots of stuff
Went to airport in a bus
Initially wanted to book a van
But booking cost the same
So book a bus instead
Reach the airport 2 hrs before the flight
Went to eat Macdonald
Just in case get starved on the plane again
Watch the same movies again
Had ice cream for dessert again
This time is Chocolate favour from Haagen Dazs
Reach Singapre at bout 10.30
Took Limousine home
The driver was helpful
Drove with both hands on the steering wheel
Signal when he's changing lanes
Real model driver
Should write in and comment him
Reach home at about 11.15
Bath and watch results for the Superhost
Results rather ridiculous
The one rather 1st turn out last
The last one end up first
Haha....
Realy weird
Think they did something to the votes
Haha....
